Washing Linen Covers
Linen is a natural fiber known for its durability and comfort. To wash linen cushion covers in the machine:
Select a Gentle Cycle: Use a gentle wash cycle with cold water to prevent shrinkage and protect the fabric's fibers. Linen can withstand a bit of agitation, but a gentle cycle will help maintain its texture and appearance.
Use Mild Detergent: Opt for a mild, liquid detergent that's formulated for delicate fabrics. Powdered detergents can sometimes leave residue on linen, so liquid is a safer choice.
Avoid Overcrowding: Don't overload the washing machine. Washing the covers with too many items can cause twisting or pulling, damaging the linen.
Dry Naturally: After washing, gently shake out the covers to remove any major wrinkles and line dry them away from direct sunlight. Avoid using a tumble dryer, as the high heat can cause the linen to shrink and weaken the fibers.
Washing Bouclé Covers
Bouclé's textured loops and curls give it a unique feel but also require gentle handling during cleaning.
Gentle Cycle with Cold Water: Just like linen, bouclé should be washed on a gentle cycle with cold water to preserve its texture and prevent shrinkage.
Mild Detergent: Use a mild, liquid detergent to avoid damaging the bouclé's looped yarns.
Mesh Laundry Bag: Place bouclé covers in a mesh laundry bag before washing. This extra step helps protect the fabric's loops from snagging or becoming tangled with other items.
Air Dry: Lay the covers flat to air dry, reshaping them as necessary to maintain their original form. Avoid the dryer to protect the fabric's texture.
